Ed Rosenthal, the Poet-Broker of Downtown Los Angeles, has played a key role in the renaissance of downtown Los Angeles. Working with Tom Gilmore, the most influential developer in the area, he facilitated the first major acquisition in the Downtown market - the purchase of the Old Bank District for re-use as lofts.

A published poet, Ed's poetry has been in the Downtown News, Garment and Citizen, California Real Estate Journal, Los Angeles Times, and most recently in the Wall Street Journal.

Ed is a founding member of the Urban Land Institute Urban Marketplace of Los Angeles District Council and poet laureate of ULILA He has delivered an annual public poem at the Urban Marketplace yearly, since his first ULI poem in 2002, "Smart Growth"
The California Real Estate Journal often features Ed in its closing section, and recently published his ode to the Eastern Columbia Building, "Jaded Deco".

Ed is currently exploring the possibilities of having public policy expressed in poetry. His most recent ULI Poem was delivered by Councilwoman Jan Perry to the 2005 Urban Marketplace, and expressed her policy preferences for the Ninth District in Downtown Los Angeles.
