Art Share LA Students Create Mosiac Gateway
Art Share
LA has contributed an integral part of the new Vista Hermosa Park.
The entrance wall designed and created by the Art Share LA
teens is just one of the ongoing community projects Art Share
LA is involved in to enrich the lives of children through the
arts.
Serving as
a gateway to the Vista Hermosa Natural Park which provides
a mountain watershed experience in Downtown Los Angeles.
A joint project with the new Edward R. Roybal learning Center,
Vista Hermosa Natural Park recreates the natural landscape of
the area while providing open space, outdoor environmental education
opportunities, a children's adventure area and a FIFA-regulation
soccer field.
Art Share
Los Angeles is a non-profit community center that changes
the lives of teens from distressed neighborhoods through participation
in enriching activities. Collaborating with a talented team of
artistic instructors, social workers, and volunteers and operating
during peak violence hours, Art Share provides a safe haven where
the power of inspiration is cultivated by means of creative expression.
Through their offerings and guidance they help to build vital
confidence and
self-esteem that result in a near perfect track record of high
school graduation. Their programs not only reach teens, and local
emerging artists, but also operate a low-income family housing
facility to support the families of talented aspiring artists.
Art Share will not only continue in the tradition of providing
life changing programs and community service, but will also engage
in a robust expansion vision that seeks to broaden the reach of
their transformative capabilities into greater Southern California
and beyond. www.artsharela.org
